The Hidden Hut is a beach cafe near Portscatho on the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall. It’s a great place to eat and unwind in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere – whether alone or with family and friends. You can even bring your dog if you wish. A great pit stop for walkers and beach goers alike. In the summer months it also opens up in evenings to host fabulous pop-up feast nights, and over the past year it has steadily been building a reputation as a unique and exciting new food venue on the Roseland peninsula.
What is The Hidden Hut? It’s a wooden beach-side shed conveniently located on the South-West Coastal Footpath. It serves simple fresh food and drink from March through to October. In theory everything is to take away, but there’s an outdoor seating area to the front with uninterrupted views out to sea and across the bay to Portscatho should you wish to sit down and relax. The hut overlooks Porthcurnick Beach, one of the most beautiful and undisturbed coves on the South Cornish coast and is about half a mile along the coastal path from the picturesque fishing village of Portscatho. You can’t drive up to it, you have to walk – but we think that makes it all the more special.

The hut is owned by the National Trust but, since Easter 2011, has been run independently by local couple Jemma & Simon, and Jemma’s mother Maggie (the all-important cake and pastry baker!).
During the Spring, Summer and Autumn months the hut serves light lunches, delicious snacks and hot & chilled drinks. The local organic ice creams and homemade cakes are a must to try!
