We are called The Hidden Hut for a reason. Finding us may turn into a small adventure…but be please be assured that the secluded location is well worth it. If you reach the beach and still cannot see us, look behind you and up. When the hut was originally built during the war it was designed so that it could not easily be seen from the beach – this is useful to bear in mind.
We can be found on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula, on the South coast of Cornwall.
You can get to us from two ways: one is by parking in the ‘Porthcurnick Beach Car Park’ at Portscatho and walking the short distance along the panoramic coastal path – this is the most advisable. The other is by driving down through Rosevine and parking on the side of the road (NB in summer this can get awkward as its only a very narrow track with limited passing spaces – the village car park is much less hassle, but does involve steps).
- If you are coming from Portscatho, we are a short walk (just 2 fields and some granite steps) along the coastal footpath in the N-Easterly direction towards Porthcurnick Beach. When you get to the granite steps leading down to the beach, you carry on straight up the other set of steps in front of you and we are just over the brow of the hill.
- If you are driving to us and wish to park on Rosevine Hill, from the main road you take the ‘Rosevine’ turning at Trewithian signposted towards the Driftwood and Rosevine Hotels. You pass the hotels and you’ll find the beach right at the bottom of the hill. We are situated on the far right-hand side above the beach via the boat park field. NB. when parking please note the double yellow lines (traffic wardens have been seen!) and please avoid obstructing the turning area at the bottom.
